Why I write London billionaire romance

I’ve always loved writing and I always loved reading romance. I’ve been writing for years and my first couple of books have a strong romance theme but would be classed as women’s fiction - they are currently languishing on my laptop and may yet see the light of day.

Billionaire romance is an obvious fit for me. I love reading the genre. I live in London and I knew I wanted to set a book here. Billionaires and London was a natural fit!

It’s glamorous, yes. But it’s also emotional.

Because romance, for me, becomes most interesting when the characters have something real to lose.

I love writing men who appear completely in control, then slowly discover that control will not save them. Billionaires who can buy the company, close the deal, win the room, but cannot quite manage the one woman who sees straight through them.

And I love writing women who are not impressed by money alone.

My heroines are ambitious, intelligent and emotionally guarded for good reason. They have their own dreams, their own wounds, their own lives. They are not waiting to be rescued. If anything, the hero usually has to learn that loving a strong woman means standing beside her, not taking over.

That is what I love about London billionaire romance. The contrast.

There is something delicious about a man who can command a room but loses his composure over one woman. Something deeply satisfying about watching two controlled, capable people realise that love is the one thing they cannot negotiate, acquire or outmanoeuvre.

My books are for readers who love glamour, tension, emotional stakes and romance that feels grown-up. The settings may be polished, but the feelings are not. Beneath the wealth and the power, these are stories about trust, vulnerability, ambition, betrayal and choosing love even when it costs something.

I write London billionaire romance because I love the fantasy of luxury.

But I stay for the moment the mask slips.
